PDF privacy checker

PDFs can carry embedded files, populated forms, links, comments and JavaScript actions. The report identifies supported structures without executing code or visiting links. Metadata cleaning preserves other structures by default. Explicit options remove supported annotations, embedded files and action objects; remaining items are listed. Annotation removal can reveal underlying content, and is refused for detected redaction marks.

Supported formats and processing budgets depend on the tool. View limits · Understand the limitations.

PRIVACY-FIRST PROCESSING

Your browser does the work.
Your files stay with you.

No upload. No account. No AI service reading your document. Just a local check before you share.

Privacy details

Files and results stay in browser memory. We serve the app and its scripts; your hosting provider still receives ordinary site requests. Optional Google Analytics measures site visits after you allow it; our analytics events exclude file details and results. No remote maps are installed.

A FEW USEFUL ANSWERS

Before you check.

Does cleaning remove PDF JavaScript?

Metadata-only cleanup preserves actions by default. You can explicitly select removal of supported actions; the generated file is reopened and checked for those structures. Arbitrary or unsupported active content may remain, so the result is not a complete PDF safety certificate.

Does a clean copy mean my file is safe?

No. We remove only supported metadata and list what remains. Visible content and other unsupported information may still reveal private details.

Which files can I check?

JPG, JPEG, PNG, static WebP and supported HEIC photos; PDFs; DOCX, XLSX and PPTX Office files; and supported MP4/MOV videos. The screenshot editor accepts JPG, PNG and static WebP. Batches allow up to 10 files and 100 MB total. See Supported formats for each tool’s limits.
