Supported formats
JPG / JPEG, PNG, static WebP and HEIC
Image metadata including supported EXIF, GPS, IPTC/XMP fields and PNG ancillary chunks. Maximum 25 MB and 24 megapixels. JPEG/PNG clean copies are generated by re-encoding the image. Static WebP copies remove EXIF/XMP chunks without re-encoding; color profiles are preserved. Animated WebP and unknown chunks are refused. Single-photo 8-bit HEIC exports a verified PNG. HDR, sequences and multiple-image HEIC are refused.
Properties, XMP, attachments, annotations, forms, links, JavaScript actions, text-layer presence and invisible text mode. Maximum 50 MB and 300 pages. Metadata is cleaned by default. Explicit options remove supported non-form/non-link annotations, embedded files and actions, with reopened structure and page-stream checks. Forms, links and uninspected content may remain. Annotation cleanup does not apply redactions.
DOCX
Core/custom/selected extended properties, comments, tracked changes, hidden text markers, media, embeddings, protection and relationships. Maximum 50 MB, 2,000 ZIP entries, 100 MB expanded data, 25 MB per part and 5 MB per XML part. DOCM, DOC and macro-enabled Office formats are not supported. XLSX and PPTX have separate package inspectors and property-only cleaning.
XLSX / PPTX
XLSX: author properties, hidden/very-hidden sheets, rows/columns, comments, names, connection/cache parts and external relationships. PPTX: properties, speaker notes, hidden slides/shapes, descriptions, comments and embeddings. Maximum 50 MB; shared ZIP/XML budgets apply; XLSX inspection allows up to 1,000 sheet definitions. Cleaning clears only supported properties and verifies all other parts remain byte-for-byte unchanged. Formulas are never evaluated; macros are never executed. Macro-enabled, binary and malformed Office files are refused.
MP4 / MOV
Supported modern MP4 and QuickTime MOV metadata and stream inspection. Maximum 100 MB, 5 minutes, 4K, 16 tracks and 200,000 samples. Cleanup removes supported tags and chapters, remuxes without re-encoding, reopens the output and compares compressed packet hashes and presentation properties. Protected media cannot be cleaned; fragmented layouts are inspection-only. Speech, visible text, subtitles, telemetry and codec payload metadata are not inspected. The local media engine downloads about 32 MB of application code from this site.
