A compatible copy of your iPhone photo
HEIC is a space-saving photo format used by iPhones. A website or Windows app may require JPG or PNG instead. Changing a filename is not a conversion: this tool decodes the photo and creates a new image in the format you select. Your original stays unchanged.
How to use HEIC to JPG / PNG
- Choose or drop up to 10 HEIC/HEIF photos. You can add more photos or remove individual ones before starting.
- Keep JPG and Web-ready size for typical uploads, or choose PNG. Adjust JPG quality if you need a smaller file; the actual size is shown after conversion.
- Select Convert photos. The decoder loads only when needed, and photos are processed one at a time on your device. Cancel stops the current batch.
- Review the converted previews and any skipped-photo messages. Download individual images, or the ZIP when at least two photos were converted.
JPG or PNG?
JPG is usually smaller for photos and is a practical default for forms and websites. Lower quality can reduce size but also detail. PNG avoids another JPEG compression step and can be much larger; it does not restore detail already lost in HEIC. Neither setting guarantees a particular upload size.
Size, colour and privacy
Web-ready limits the longest side to 2048 pixels without enlarging small photos. Original dimensions use more memory. The converted copy is made from decoded pixels without copying source EXIF metadata, but visible private details remain. Review orientation and colours; this converter is not a privacy audit or a colour-managed professional workflow. Photo files are processed locally and are not uploaded for conversion.
Supported files and limits
- Up to 10 files, 25 MB per photo and 100 MB total input. Each single still photo must be at most 24 million pixels. For a larger source, export a smaller photo from Photos first.
- Supported HEVC-based HEIC/HEIF still images only. HDR/high-bit-depth photos, bursts, image sequences, multiple-photo containers and AVIF are not supported. Export a standard SDR still copy for these files.
- A converted image is limited to 50 MB and the combined images to 100 MB. If memory is limited, choose Web-ready or Smaller size and process fewer photos. Decoding a large source can still exceed a device’s memory.
- Files and results remain in this tab’s memory. Download copies before leaving; Clear files releases this tool’s results. Optional analytics and other site services follow the site privacy policy.
Local processing and privacy
ToolDock processes the files you select in your browser and does not upload them for this tool. Originals stay unchanged. Loading the website, processing code and Google libraries still makes network requests; local file processing does not mean a network-silent page. Read what is requested and stored.
Questions about HEIC to JPG / PNG
Can I convert several iPhone photos at once?
Yes, up to 10 photos within the displayed limits. Photos are converted sequentially. If one is unsupported, successful copies remain available and the skipped photo is listed separately. A ZIP is offered when two or more photos convert.
Why did my HEIC not convert?
The file may be HDR, contain more than one image, be damaged, or exceed the displayed limits. Use the specific error shown for that photo. Exporting a standard SDR still from Photos can help; simply renaming a file will not.
